Who is tested

A standard paternity case compares a child and an alleged father. The mother's sample is optional; when it is available it usually strengthens the statistical interpretation. A coordinator confirms the participants with you before anything is booked.

How samples are collected

The standard sample is a cheek (buccal) swab — a few seconds of gentle brushing inside the mouth, with no blood draw. For personal testing you can use a home kit. For legal or immigration files, collection is witnessed, identity is checked against government-issued ID, and a chain-of-custody record travels with the sealed samples.

Who analyses the samples

KINORA GENETICS coordinates the case; the analysis is performed by accredited laboratory partners. The laboratory compares genetic markers and issues the report.

Timing and results

Standard cases are typically reported 3–7 business days after the laboratory partner receives all samples. Additional participants, non-standard samples or overseas collection can take longer. These are estimates, not guarantees.
