Our role

KINORA GENETICS is a DNA testing and sample collection service operated by Canadian International Business Development Corp.. We coordinate consultation, identity verification, sample collection, documentation, and secure report delivery. We do not own or operate a laboratory and we perform no analysis at any of our sites.

All laboratory analysis and reporting is performed by qualified, accredited laboratory partners. Those partners determine the methods used, the accuracy statistics reported, and the content of the report.

No guarantees

We do not guarantee any particular result, probability, or conclusion. Turnaround times are estimates provided by the laboratory partners, begin when all required samples are received by the partner, and may be affected by sample quality, participant availability, courier transit, and case complexity.

We do not guarantee that any court, immigration authority, government body, employer, or other organisation will accept a report. Acceptance is decided solely by the receiving party.

Nothing on this website or in our communications is medical, diagnostic, legal, or immigration advice. Wellness and traits reports are educational and must not be used to make health decisions. Please consult a licensed healthcare professional or an authorised representative about your circumstances.

Eligibility and consent

Each participant, or their parent or legal guardian, must provide informed consent before collection. Testing intended for legal or official use requires supervised collection, government-issued identification, and documented chain of custody. Collecting a sample from another person without lawful authority or consent is prohibited.

Service areas

Richmond, British Columbia is our Head Office and DNA Testing & Collection Centre and is our only physical location. Any other city or region we list indicates collection-coordination availability through partner collectors, is not an office, and is subject to confirmation.

Pricing, shipping and third-party fees

Unless otherwise stated, prices displayed on this website are denominated in United States Dollars (USD) and apply to DNA testing services only. If you pay using an account or payment method denominated in another currency, your financial institution or payment provider may apply its own exchange rate or foreign currency charges. Those charges are not KINORA fees.

Shipping, courier, professional sample collection, blood collection, healthcare provider services, additional participants, non-standard sample processing, taxes and other third-party costs may be additional depending on the test and case requirements. There is no single universal shipping charge: shipping is charged according to the actual applicable cost for the destination, carrier and service selected, and may be arranged through Canada Post, UPS, FedEx or another appropriate courier where available.

Where a collection kit is shipped, kit delivery is charged separately from the testing fee. Prepaid return shipping is optional and available only where the selected carrier and destination allow it; where selected, the applicable return shipping cost is confirmed with the outbound shipping cost.

Legal, immigration and chain-of-custody cases require verified collection procedures, and professional collection, identification-related services and coordination fees may apply. Prenatal testing is quoted separately from blood collection and healthcare provider fees. Non-standard samples may incur additional extraction and processing fees, and DNA recovery from non-standard samples cannot be guaranteed; extraction and processing charges may remain payable where sufficient DNA cannot be recovered.

All applicable additional fees are disclosed to you in writing before your order is finalized. No amount is charged through this website without that written confirmation.

Pricing, payment, and cancellation

Prices shown on this website are starting prices for the standard case described and are not totals. The final price for your case is confirmed in writing before collection is arranged.

Fees for collection, kits, courier transfer, and partner laboratory analysis may become non-refundable once a sample has been transferred to the laboratory partner. Rescheduling is subject to availability.

Sample Quality, Re-Testing and Additional Fees

DNA testing depends on the quality, quantity and suitability of the sample submitted.

If a sample cannot be successfully tested because of insufficient quantity, poor quality, contamination, incorrect collection, incorrect handling or another sample-related issue, additional testing or re-sampling may be required.

Additional laboratory and testing fees may apply where re-testing, re-sampling or replacement testing is necessary.

Fees already incurred for unsuccessful or failed sample processing may be non-refundable.

KINORA GENETICS will advise the client where additional testing or a new sample is required before proceeding where reasonably possible.

Adding Participants to a DNA Test

All intended participants should be identified before testing begins.

Once laboratory testing has started, additional participants generally cannot be added to the existing test.

If an additional participant is requested after testing has started or has been completed, a new or additional test may be required and additional fees may apply.

Where discounted additional-participant pricing is available for a particular test, it applies only where eligible participants are processed together as part of the same testing batch.

Sample Shipping and Delivery

Clients are responsible for samples and shipments until delivery is confirmed at the designated KINORA location or testing laboratory.

KINORA GENETICS is not responsible for courier delays, loss, customs issues or other shipping events that occur before confirmed receipt.

Clients should use a trackable shipping method and retain their tracking information.

For international shipments, customs clearance and any required shipping documentation remain the responsibility of the sender unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Turnaround Times

Typical laboratory turnaround is measured in business days after suitable samples are received and accepted by the laboratory, and is not an unconditional guarantee.

Certain tests, sample types or complex cases may require batch processing, additional review or additional documentation, which may extend turnaround times. Such laboratory processing requirements are not a service failure.

Complex or Exceptional Cases

Some DNA cases may require additional laboratory review, documentation or approval. Depending on the circumstances, additional documentation may be requested, additional fees may apply, turnaround times may be extended, or the laboratory may determine that testing cannot proceed.

KINORA GENETICS will communicate material additional requirements before proceeding where reasonably possible.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability arising from the coordination services described here is limited to the fees paid for the affected order. We are not liable for decisions made on the basis of a report, or for acts or omissions of third-party laboratories, couriers, or authorities.
