What chain of custody means
Chain of custody is an unbroken written record of who collected a sample, from whom, when, and how it travelled to the laboratory. Without it, a result may be scientifically valid but unusable in a legal or official setting.

When you need it
Court proceedings, child support and custody matters, estate and inheritance questions, and immigration applications generally require legal testing. Home-collected samples cannot satisfy these requirements.
