  • Confirm which test you need — personal or legal — because legal testing requires professional collection and photo identification
  • Bring government-issued photo identification for every adult participant
  • For minors, bring documentation showing guardianship or authority to consent
  • Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for about 30 minutes before a cheek swab

What to expect

Collection itself takes only a few minutes. For legal testing, the collector verifies identity, completes chain-of-custody documentation, and seals the samples in tamper-evident packaging before transfer to the accredited laboratory partner.

Where we collect

Our Head Office and DNA Testing & Collection Centre is located in Richmond, British Columbia. In other Canadian service areas, collection is coordinated with local facilities; these locations are service areas rather than KINORA offices.
